Opportunities at Indicorps

Indicorps recognizes that there are a number of individuals who would like to support the Indicorps mission but cannot commit to the Indicorps Fellowship.  For those individuals with the same drive, creativity, passion for India and connection to Indicorps’ values, we have limited staff openings and an Indicorps office-based internship program.  For current staff and internship openings, please visit our page on Idealist.

Staff

Indicorps staff members are vital to the functioning of the Indicorps Fellowship.  The ideal staff member has:

• An interest in grassroots development in India.
• The creativity and drive to untap the best self in both others and themselves.
• A willingness to attend to all the behind-the-scenes details.
• A steady internal compass and the maturity to make decisions that affect both yourself and others.

You should consider a position on Indicorps staff as an option if you are willing to push yourself and others further on a path of self-discovery through dedicated selfless service.   You should also have the ability to deliver high quality output at a sustained pace through the entirety of the Indicorps Fellowship year.  Staff positions will primarily be based in the Ahmedabad office with field visits to project sites as required.

Internships

The Indicorps Internship Program allows individuals to spend 4-6 months at the Indicorps office in Ahmedabad on a variety of individualized projects tailored to meet Indicorps' needs, intern interests and strengths.  The Internship allows individuals who are passionate about India to work directly with Indicorps staff to support the Fellowship program and local projects.  Internships are available to anyone unable to make a one-year commitment.  In the past, we have had interns with graduate degrees (including a PhD) join us for a 6-month internship post. The ideal intern has:

• Motivation, initiative, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, forward-moving environment.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
