Fellowship Program Manager

Indicorps seeks a Fellowship Program Manager (Manager) who will serve as the backbone of the Aug09 Fellowship support team. The Fellowship Manager will lead and work alongside a team of 2-3 Fellowship Program Coordinators (Coordinators), who will provide support and guidance to Indicorps fellows on project and personal challenges in the field. The Manager will guide the Fellowship support team and the fellows in the field to be their best and push themselves to be community leaders. The Manager will also ensure regular communications with fellows and NGO partners. 

Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to):

  • Lead a team of 2-3 Coordinators to provide effective support and guidance to fellows
  • Lead weekly Fellowship Support meetings to track overall progress of fellows and analyze trends
  • Lead weekly meetings with team members to ensure they are meeting their goals related to Fellowship Support and their secondary project
  • Ensure the team is maintaining strong communications with NGO partners
  • Provide regular mentoring to 2-3 fellow teams, via phone calls and field visits
  • Track fellow project progress via bi-weekly documentation
  • Collectively strategize on how to best support the development of fellows & projects
  • Identify resources and best practices to help fellows move forward in projects
  • Liaise with alumni for direct mentorship to fellows and for other support functions
  • Support the creation of bi-monthly fellow leadership workshops
  • Support outreach and selection for future Indicorps fellowship programs
  • Help create and lead orientations for new fellowship classes, internship programs and other Indicorps programs
  • Improve Indicorps processes and programs based on field experiences
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for the fellowship program
  • Assist with other Indicorps programs (i.e. Young Professionals’ Initiative)

Qualifications

Required

  • College/University Degree and 2-3 years work experience (required)
  • 2-3 years of experience working in a community organization or NGO
  • Prior experience coaching or mentoring juniors or peers in an organization
  • An understanding of grassroots development and its challenges
  • Strong communications, conflict-resolution, and human support skills
  • Fluency in English and an Indian language
  • Ability to understand and motivate people
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work under limited guidance
  • Self-driven and able to initiative and launch new ideas
  • Patient, caring, mature, ability to stay level-headed during crises
  • An intuitive sense of service and dedication to investing in youth

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Prior experience working in India and with Indicorps’ service philosophy
  • Prior experience or interest in personal development and leadership training
  • Effective in working or volunteering in a non-profit organization that is focused on maintaining high quality work and low overhead
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented global or regional organization
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and take initiative
  • Ability to identify potential problems and devise creative solutions to achieve program goal
