Alumni Association Manager
Indicorps seeks an Alumni Association (AA) Manager to launch an exciting new Alumni Association for Indicorps’ alumni members. The AA Manager will strategically develop the structure of the organization with the support of alumni. With more than 100 alumni in the U.S., India, U.K., Canada and other countries, Indicorps has a critical mass of individuals dedicated to service to India. The mission of the Alumni Association will be to support alum in providing a forum for continued learning and community service.
Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to):
- Build an overarching structure for an Alumni Association in line with the Indicorps mission
- Assist with creating a new web platform through Facebook, M y Space, or an internal website, that will encourage alumni to stay engaged and updated about Indicorps
- Organize regular conference calls with alumni (to discuss development of Association)
- Coordinate alumni involvement in Fellowship outreach, recruitment, and selection
- Coordinating annual Alumni Retreats in the U.S. with alumni support
- Design a ‘Leadership Weekend’ for Alumni in Fall 2009 that focuses on continued leadership development in social service
- Create, administer, and analyze an Alumni survey to assess the long-term impact of the Fellowship in building leadership as we approach our 10th Fellowship class
- Maintain a current database of Alumni
Qualifications
Required
- College/University Degree and 2-3 years work experience
- Prior knowledge of or interest in creating an Alumni Association for an academic institution, organization, or fellowship a strong plus
- Prior leadership experience, with proven ability to multi-task
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Attention to detail, knowledge of new media and its use in facilitating effective engagement
- Knowledge of or experience with putting together conferences, workshops, or leadership activities for youth
- Ability to inspire others to become more effectively involved in their communities
- Creative, enthusiastic, and passionate about facilitating meaningful leadership
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Effective in working or volunteering in a non-profit organization that is focused on maintaining high quality work and low overhead
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented global or regional organization
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and take initiative
- Ability to identify potential problems and devise creative solutions to achieve program goals
