Project Development Coordinator
Indicorps seeks 2-3 enthusiastic, creative Project Development Coordinators to join the Project Development Team. Each coordinator will be responsible for managing a portfolio of partnerships, either based on region or issue area. The Project Development Team will develop partnerships for Indicorps’ January 2010, August 2010 and onward Fellowship classes. This position is based in the Ahmedabad, Gujarat office, but will require extensive travel around India via train and bus. Project Development Coordinators will report to the Project Development Manager.
Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to):
- Actively participate in Indicorps’ global strategy for project development
- Manage a portfolio of projects and act as the primary liaison between the partner and Indicorps
- Collaborate on a team of 2-3 other staff members to assess viability of potential partners and determine projects for each Fellowship cycle
- Actively research and seek out partnerships with key stakeholders in the NGO, government, and private sectors
- Visit partner sites to understand philosophy, field activities, and willingness to invest in young people
- Act as a thoughtful spokesperson for Indicorps at partner sites
- Help design sustainable projects, under the guidance of the Project Development Manager, in accordance with partner needs, the Indicorps philosophy, and our potential to contribute
- Write and edit project opportunities for each Fellowship cycle
- Communicate regularly with NGO partners
- Identify and realize opportunities for growth, innovation, and collaboration
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1-3 years experience supporting processes and/or projects, preferably with an NGO
- An understanding of the development sector in India, with a strong interest in learning more and making a meaningful contribution
- Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, accurate and efficient with a demonstrated work ethic
- Maturity to build relationships with a broad range of staff, both at Indicorps and with partners
- Excellent abilities to work independently and with minimal and/or remote guidance, particularly while traveling
- Proven track record in performing multiple tasks and performing under pressure of deadlines
- Ability to serve as a persuasive, thoughtful, and charismatic spokesperson
- Highly articulate with exceptionally strong written, editorial and verbal skills
- Fluent in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent command of English and fluency in at least one Indian language

- Effective in working or volunteering in a non-profit organization that is focused on maintaining high quality work and low overhead
- Proven ability to stay poised and level-headed during crises
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented global or regional organization
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and take initiative
- Ability to identify potential problems and devise creative solutions to achieve program goals
